I can’t believe I’m saying this, but dang, teenagers can be tough. How am I even old enough to have an opinion on the current state of our youth. Didn’t I just graduate high school? (Class of 2008!) Just when I felt like hope was lost on a generation of ungrateful children, Alyson came back into my world. I was her nanny when she was 9. Even back then I knew she was special. Her heart was as golden as her hair. She was responsible and kind. Always looking well to the ways of others.
After I photographed her mom’s wedding, I learned that Alyson was getting into photography. I could tell from her instagram that she definitely has an eye for beauty. I offered to help her out, and teach her anything she wanted learn.
It turns out that Alyson and I have a lot in common. Thrift shopping as a favorite hobby. Exploring new locations. Wearing our well loved Birkenstock’s. Farmers markets and iced coffee. Over the summer, she was able to make two trips up to visit. Once just for fun, and once to photograph my sister’s wedding with me.
I am so incredibly grateful for this sweet girl! I look forward to many more trips and exciting adventures. I know the future is going to be pretty amazing for this one!
